I don’t really think PB will touch on this at all but I really hope we see some repercussions for Bran keeping his mating bond with Leah shut for the entirety of their mating.

The mating bond is meant to have an enormous impact on both individuals—especially their emotional wellbeing right? So I feel like there should be some actual negative consequences to it being kept shut for so long?

#similar to how a muscle atrophies when you aren’t able to use it?#it doesn’t make sense that bran is just able to open it so easily after 200 years and it’s all fine and good #i’m also curious to how much access Leah had to the bond anyway?#we know she can use his clout and i imagine bran allows that for protection purposes #but does he let her access anything else?#it’s kinda interesting that PB implies that abuse is made difficult or even impossible in a mating because of the mating bond #since the bond allows you to see / feel your partner’s pov and feelings #at least that’s what seems to be suggested?#but then also makes it clear that for bran and leah this aspect of the bond is closed because bran doesn’t want to open it #it’s also interesting that when bran does try to open the bond leah shuts it down almost instinctively #it would be kinda of an interesting plot twist if at the end of wild sign when bran tries to open the mating bond something goes wonky??#anyway random sleepy thoughts #leah cornick #bran cornick
